The ICAR–Indian Institute of Oil Palm Research celebrated its 32nd Foundation Day on 19-02-2026 at Pedavegi. The programme began with ceremonial planting of tissue culture plants in the field followed by lighting of lamp in the Auditorium. Dr. K. Motorized Backpack Machine for Oil Palm Ablation and Harvesting-Submission of EOI | IIOPR
ICAR–IIOPR, Pedavegi has developed a motorized backpack machine specifically designed for ablation and harvesting operations in oil palm. The machine has been ergonomically designed to be carried as a backpack, ensuring comfort and ease of operation for field workers.

Vigilance Awareness Week-2025 celebrated at ICAR-IIOPR | IIOPR
A Walkathon was organized on 30-10-2025 as a part of Vigilance Awareness Week (27-10-2025 to 02-11-2025) at the Institute. About 100 members participated in the programme. Dr. K. Suresh, Director explained about the importance of the programme taken up by Govt. of India to create awareness about the importance of Vigilance and make the country corruption free. He explained about the importance and role of Vigilance officer in the Institute.

Commercialization of three ICAR-IIOPR technologies | IIOPR
ICAR-IIOPR organised Industry meet on March 11, 2026 to popularise and commercialize oil palm technologies developed by the Institute. Dr. K. India’s first tissue culture derived oil palm clones planted by ICAR-IIOPR | IIOPR
The ICAR-Indian Institute of Oil Palm Research, Pedavegi has successfully established an efficient tissue culture protocol for dura and tenera genotypes of oil palm utilizing immature male inflorescence explant through the process of somatic embryogenesis. Institute has developed protocol for both tenera and dura oil palm genotypes, which aid in the production of uniform hybrid planting material as well as semi clonal planting material.
