• To provide and improve our search engine and platform services
• To personalise search results based on your location and preferences
• To connect you with relevant projects and opportunities
• To send transactional emails (registration, password reset, application status)
• To analyse usage patterns and improve the platform
• To prevent fraud, abuse, and ensure platform security

3 Search Data & Query Logs

Search queries submitted to INDDN are logged to:

• Improve search result quality and relevance
• Generate trending search insights (aggregated, not individual)
• Detect and prevent abuse of our search infrastructure

Search logs are associated with your IP address and, if logged in, your user account. You may request deletion of your search history by contacting us.

Our AI Answer feature uses your search query and top result snippets as context to generate answers. Queries are sent to third-party AI providers (Anthropic, Groq) under their respective privacy policies.

4 Cookies & Tracking

We use the following types of cookies:

• Essential cookies: Session management, CSRF protection, authentication
• Preference cookies: Dark/light mode, search region, language preferences (stored in localStorage)
• Analytics: We use server-side logging — no third-party analytics cookies (no Google Analytics, no Facebook Pixel)

You can clear cookies and localStorage at any time through your browser settings. Clearing essential cookies will log you out.

5 Sharing of Information

We share your information only in these limited circumstances:

• AI providers: Search queries shared with Anthropic (Claude) or Groq (LLaMA) to generate AI answers — no personal identifying information is shared
• Project visibility: If you join a project, your name, profile photo, and bio are visible to other platform users on the project page
• Legal requirements: We may disclose information to comply with Indian law, court orders, or government requests
• Business transfers: In the event of a merger or acquisition, your data may transfer to the new entity

6 Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on servers located in India. We implement the following security measures:

• HTTPS encryption for all data in transit
• Bcrypt password hashing (rounds: 12)
• CSRF protection on all form submissions
• Rate limiting to prevent brute-force attacks
• Regular security audits

No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security but take commercially reasonable measures to protect your data.

7 Your Rights

You have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Access: Request a copy of the data we hold about you
• Correction: Update inaccurate or incomplete data via your profile settings
• Deletion: Request deletion of your account and associated data
• Portability: Request your data in a portable format

8 Children's Privacy

INDDN is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9 IT Act 2000 & Indian Law

INDDN operates in compliance with the Information Technology Act, 2000 (India) and its amendments, including the IT (Amendment) Act 2008 and the IT (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011.

Under these rules, the following categories of data are treated as Sensitive Personal Data or Information (SPDI) and are protected with additional safeguards:

• Passwords
• Financial information (if collected)
• Physical, physiological and mental health conditions
• Any detail relating to the above clauses as provided to body corporate for providing service

For grievances related to personal data under Indian law, contact our Grievance Officer at privacy@inddn.in. We will address grievances within 30 days.

10 Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and notify registered users by email. Continued use of INDDN after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
